UNICEF Pakistan is actively involved in the promotion of the well-being of target children and women in thematic program areas, that is, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Health, Nutrition, Education, and Child Protection across KP and FATA. To assist the field offices in regular monitoring, ensure better oversight and wider field coverage, identifying gaps, issues and difficulties faced by women and children and reporting to the field offices on regular basis, UNICEF selected APEX Consulting as a partner to provide field monitors/reporters working under provisional offices of UNICEF.

Detailed Description of the Actual Services

The services provided by the firm included development and refinement of instruments to monitor UNICEF’s implementing partner activities in KP and six agencies of the FATA region. APEX mobilized and trained 08 monitoring teams consisted of 13 monitors with experience in program monitoring, reporting, community development, and social research. Field teams used monitoring guidelines and observations to collect information about Health, Water and Sanitation, Education, and Child Protection. Weekly monitoring reports were submitted presenting possibilities, gaps, and success stories. Daily monitoring updates were also reported to provincial hubs/field offices of UNICEF. APEX also designed a web-based M&E reporting system to enables, field staff, to upload monitoring reports on daily basis and results can be viewed globally through internet access.
