• Save the Children International (SCI) planned to conduct an Initial Assessment on Improving basic health needs of vulnerable people in six provinces of Afghanistan, focusing on women and girls. The initial assessment was planned to conduct in six provinces of Afghanistan – Faryyab, Jawzjan, Sare Pul, Dai Kundi, Bamyan and Kandhar.  The specific objectives of assessment were as follows-

To gather data to permit project staff and partners to gain a clear understanding of the current situation with regards to basic health needs, specifically of women and children.  The baseline study will aslo collect, organize and analyze information on project components to contribute to the design and implementation of a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation system
